I lived in building 529 which was directly across the street from the rear entrance to Augsburg Elementary. It directly beside the Chapel and the commissary. I lived on the first floor and knew: the Porters, Wingates, and Greg English. I didn't want to come back to the States.

I did my student teaching at Augsburg American Elementary School and taught second grade there as well, Mrs. Donovan. I had a wonderful student teaching and teaching experience. Mrs. Murray was our principal. Mary Stasavich and Eleanore Whitlatch were my supervising teachers. Any of my students out there? I had a couple of visits from students when I returned to the U.S. I wonder what you're all up to now? I loved the ice skating exchange with our German schools and the Christkindlmart.

Sheridan Kaserne, 1987-1989, 1/30th FA which reorganized as 2/77th. My first duty station following Basic and AIT...what a place for an 18/19 year old, first time away from home! Sadly, I lost touch with everyone once we parted ways, and names that I figured I would never forget are now just familiar faces.

My dad was stationed at Flak Kaserne. Lived at Cramerton from 1961-63. Went to the nearby American elementary school from 4th - 6th grades. Miss Gross was my 5th grade teacher; Mr. Holland for 6th grade. Had to go through an underpass beneath the road to walk between the housing area and the school. Underpass was where all the "big kids" would hang out and smoke cigarettes. I remember that the PX was walking distance away. Sold Xmas trees at that PX with my Boy Scout troop one year.

Hi Dan Aiken - I don't know if you remember me - I'm Sharon Benoit - I used to live upstairs from you in Cramerton. My brother Paul Benoit used to hang out with you. My dad was Sgt. Benoit. Hope you are doing well. It's so amazing to read all these commits - brings back so many good memories of Germany.
